About the service

Об’єктами insurance є the Insured's liability for nuclear damage caused to an injured third party and/or his property as a result of a nuclear incident at a nuclear facility specified in the application for liability insurance (Appendix to the Liability Insurance Agreement), and/or during the transportation of nuclear material to the Insured's nuclear facility after he accepted responsibility for this material from the operator of another nuclear facility or during its transportation from the Insured's nuclear facility and responsibility for which was not accepted by another operator according to the written agreement

Insurance risks:

An insured event for nuclear damage liability insurance is the entry into force of a court decision on nuclear damage compensation or the conclusion of an agreement on nuclear damage compensation, to which the authorized insurer is a party.

The size of the insured amount (liability limit):

The total insured sum under the liability insurance contract of the nuclear installation operator is equivalent to 150 million Special Drawing Rights, and for research reactors - 5 million Special Drawing Rights, for each nuclear incident, as well as collectively for all insured events that occurred during the validity of the liability insurance contract.

The liability of the Insurer (members of the Nuclear Insurance Pool) in the event of the death of an injured third party is limited to an amount equal to 2,000 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, established at the time of rendering a court decision or concluding an agreement on compensation for nuclear damage, for each injured third party (deceased).

Відповідальність Insurer (членів Ядерного страхового пулу) за шкоду, заподіяну здоров’ю потерпілої третьої особи, обмежується сумою, що is equal to 5000 неоподатковуваних мінімумів доходів громадян, установлених на момент винесення судового рішення або укладення договору про відшкодування ядерної шкоди, на кожну потерпілу третю особу, але не більше ніж розмір фактично заподіяної шкоди такій особі.

Limitations/Features of the Insurance Product

The liability insurance contract is concluded on the basis of the policyholder's written application in the form approved by the Nuclear Insurance Pool, between the authorized insurer and the policyholder only after the appointment of the policyholder as the operator of the nuclear installation.

The exclusive list of insurance restrictions is given in the Insurance Contract.

Basic conditions of insurance

Страховий тариф is defined відповідно до Порядку та умов insurance відповідальності оператора ядерної установки за ядерну шкоду, затверджених наказом Міністерства енергетики України, Міністерства захисту довкілля та природних ресурсів України 17.07.2025 № 275/1457 (далі – Порядок та умови).

The annual insurance tariff under a specific liability insurance contract, which does not exceed the maximum insurance tariff, is agreed by the Nuclear Insurance Pool with the relevant insured before the conclusion of the liability insurance contract and is approved by the General Assembly of the Nuclear Insurance Pool.

The insurance premium is determined by multiplying the insured amount and the insurance tariff.

Андерайтинг здійснюється на підставі Рішень Загальних зборів об’єднання «Ядерний страховий пул»

Territory, на яку поширюється дія Agreement insurance відповідальності – Україна (за виключенням тимчасово окупованих територій).

Term of validity of the Agreement insurance відповідальності – 1 (один) рік.

The validity period of the Agreement can be extended by concluding the next insurance agreement.

The insurance period is equal to the term of the Agreement.

The franchise is set at zero.

Insurance contract не is additional to other non-insurance goods, works or services.

There is no discount.

Можливі наслідки для споживача в разі невиконання ним обов’язків, визначених договором insurance:

in the case of non-payment of the insurance premium in full within the term established by the contract, the consequence is that the insurance contract does not enter into force.
failure to pay the next part of the insurance premium within the term established by the contract is grounds for early termination of the contract.
in case of untimely notification of the occurrence of an insured event, the Insurer may refuse to make an insurance payment or reduce its amount.
